Suspending my life for an entire year.
Losing friends and family who just could not understand why I needed to put our relationships on hold while I took care of my parents.
Missing out on watching my friend’s kids go from 8 months to 2 years old.
Sleepless nights spent worrying, doing laundry, casing my parents house trying to figure out why the water wasn’t working, and doing more paperwork than any one human being should ever have to do.
65 mile one-way commutes into work from Merritt Island and back again, four times a week plus nightly visits to the hospital in Melbourne.
Learning how the human body works so well, and what vital statistics mean so thoroughly, that surgeons assumed I was a nurse when I asked questions and checked-up on the status of my stepmom.
And so, so much more… all while my heart was breaking and my mind was processing the loss of my most favorite and beloved person on the planet.
The love and recognition from my stepmom makes it all 100% worth it.
That is all.
